Accounts CEO Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder
Medhat M Bahnan is Chief Executive Officer and a co-founder of Accounts International. He is responsible for providing strategic direction, profitability maximization, and resource optimization for the company.
Mr. Bahnan spent the first ten years of his professional career working in public accounting and corporate finance for KPMG Peat Marwick, News Corp., and the Culver City, Ca. government. He has held multiple positions spanning from an auditor to a comptroller. His experience covers areas such as assurance, budget formulation, tax planning and compliance, financial statement analysis, Government and Non-Profit accounting, and financial statement analysis and reformulation.
Mr. Bahnan subsequently spent several years working as a management consultant. During his consulting career he assisted Global 500 companies with developing robust solutions to complex problems. He has held positions with top management consultancies such as A.T. Kearney and KPMG Consulting. He has advised clients in the areas of Strategy, Operations, Business Transformation, Business Process Improvement, and Business Process outsourcing.
Mr. Bahnan has an MBA from the University of Rochester and a B.S. in Accounting from the California State University Northridge.
Vice President of International Operations
Hefeny Khalifa is the V.P. of International Operations for Accounts International. He is responsible for providing management, oversight and strategic direction over the day-to-day activities of AI’s international operations.
Mr. Khalifa has over 35 years in experience in management and operations. Prior to joining Accounts International, he spent 20 years as a senior executive of Eastern Tobacco Co. – a British-American Tobacco Company. During his role as a senior executive, Eastern Tobacco expanded their product line to include 45 additional brands, increasing their top-line revenue by 10X to reach $2.5 billion of annual sales. His vision provided the guidance to create the infrastructure needed to sustain the growth the company enjoyed over a 15-year span.
Mr. Khalifa has a B.S. Mechanical Engineering from the University of Helwan Egypt. Additionally, he has earned an executive management certification from Georgetown University.
Vice President of Client Services
Mr. Derek McEwen is the V.P. of Client Services for Accounts International. He is responsible for the strategic and tactical development of the products, services, and value proposition for AI’s offerings.
Mr. McEwen has over 15 years of experience in personal and corporate tax analysis, management, and preparation. His tax strategy programs have assisted clients across the U.S. in minimizing federal and state tax liabilities.
Mr. McEwen also has an extensive background in auditing. His clients include corporations and U.S. government agencies such as NASA, the Internal Revenue Service, & the Department of Labor. Mr. McEwen is a founding partner of McEwen Accounting Services where he oversees the preparation of several thousand tax returns annually. This scope of services includes the preparation and strategic analysis for both corporate & personal tax clients.
Mr. McEwen is a graduate of Villanova University with a B.S. Accounting from the School of Commerce and Finance. While a student at Villanova, Mr. McEwen was a 4-year starter of the Nationally Ranked Football Team.
